Healthy at Church Recommendations

Healthy at Church Recommendations

The Ministry Cabinet (governing board) of South Elkhorn launched a Healthy at Church Task Force to recommend requirements for healthy worship and safely reopening the church building. Learn more about the team here.

On Tuesday, June 16, the Ministry Cabinet approved the following “Regulations for Building Reopening” recommendations from the Healthy at Church Task Force, including the following highlights:

      • Worshipping outdoors in-person, in-car, and online as a safer alternative to indoor, in-person worship. Learn more about outdoor worship here.
      • Starting June 21, church groups of 25 or fewer are allowed go meet in the building with precautions including advanced scheduling, mask-wearing, social distancing, and the presence of a trained hygiene coordinator. At-risk people (including those over 65 or with underlying conditions) are encouraged not to attend in-person small group gatherings.
You can read the full policy as approved by the South Elkhorn Ministry Cabinet (governing board) on June 16, 2020:

The task force will continue to meet in the days and weeks ahead to develop additional plans and guidance for the Cabinet to consider when it meets again.
