Half Day Educational Programs Since 1970
Little Elks preschool wants your children to experience happy and stimulating activities as they begin their journey into the world of formal education. These important beginning experiences develop the foundation for what comes later.
It is hoped that the children learn to manage their feelings through work and play with others, peers and teachers. They learn that an adult, other than their own parents, can be loving and understanding.
Our programs are varied and challenging. The teaching techniques combine the traditional methods with the new cooperative approaches to learning. Whether your child is a two, three or a four year old, the programs respond to the individualized needs of each age and level of maturity. The classes are small, allowing time for individual attention. We provide an atmosphere where Christian ideals of love and respect are demonstrated. We do celebrate the birth of Christ and the Christmas story. Grace is said at snack time. Monthly sessions of 15 minutes Children’s Church called Wee Praise are held.
Each teacher is hired for her “Love” of children and teaching. Each teacher has years of experience in Early Childhood Education and is involved in continuing education opportunities. Teachers hold college degrees in various areas of education. All are CPR accredited.
We feel parents choose Little Elks because they are interested and concerned that their child receives a good foundation for formal education in later years. Parents find that Little Elks is a happy loving school where their child will have a positive experiences.
We encourage parents to participate in their child’s pre-school education. The school supplies information and suggestions so parent can follow through with lessons and experiences at home. Room parents help out when an extra hand is needed.
An orientation Meeting for parents is held prior to the beginning of school. A school program is given at the conclusion of each year.
Parent conferences are scheduled when needed. Progress reports are send home. Newsletters and school calendars are sent home on a regular basis and provide a constant bond between school and home. A parent information folder is provided at the beginning of each year.
For the safety of all, visitors are welcome, with an appointment.
